Search engines
People get very concerned about search engines and it is good to get your site listed as well as possible. However, a high Google ranking is no guarantee of customers. As a smaller business achieving a high search engine ranking when the site is new is likely to be hard (despite what some people promise) so you should budget more for other advertising and marketing.
A good listing is best achieved by having good and relevent content on your site and lots and lots and lots of links into and out of your site. Spending money with search engine specialists is often not money well spent. Having the interent as your only marketing and advertising channel is not a good idea.
